Dynamite Entertainment announced the ThunderCats ongoing series at New York Comic Con in October 2023, with the creative team of writer Declan Shalvey, artist Drew Moss, and letterer Jeff Eckleberry. Shalvey entered the project with a preconceived trilogy of story arcs — an initial plan of roughly 12–15 issues — and issue #15 was always intended to be the culmination of that opening design. The issue's final chapter, 'Warrior,' features interior art by Joe Mulvey rather than Moss, a notable production distinction within the arc. The original street date of April 23, 2025 was shifted by one week to April 30, 2025.
