Thunderbolt encounters Gore the Man-Ape, a villain created years ago by a medical specialist who lost his hand in an explosion and sought revenge by transferring a dying ape's paw onto himself, then developing superhuman strength and wild instincts. After being rejected by humanity despite his genius, Gore created an army of ape-creatures and proclaimed himself their supreme ruler. Thunderbolt battles Gore's creatures in an arena setting. The story concludes as Thunderbolt returns to his mansion, where his friend Peter discusses the villain's origin with him before the two consider what adventure might come next, possibly inspired by a King Kong movie advertisement.
