“Where Pass the Black Stars, There Also Passes... Death!”

In "Where Pass the Black Stars, There Also Passes... Death!", Thor and his crew arrive on the dying planet Rigel just as its upper classes flee in desperation. With the planet on the brink of destruction, they must reach the abandoned mutant sub-classes before the Black Stars—ancient, cosmic horrors—consume everything in their path. Written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by John Buscema, with inks by Jim Mooney and colors by George Roussos, this 1973 Marvel classic captures a moment of high stakes and awe, as the heroes stand together in silent dread before an unstoppable force. The cover, by Rich Buckler and Joe Sinnott, perfectly frames the looming dread.
