The Zombie: Simon Garth #2

The second chapter of Marvel MAX's four-part Simon Garth limited series announces itself with a cover that's genuinely hard to look away from — a massive, decaying maw fills the frame, teeth shattered and dripping blood against a rain-lashed black void, with a skull medallion just visible above it. Kyle Hotz's cover linework, inked by his own hand, wrings every drop of dread from the image with raw, visceral detail. If this is the kind of horror Eric Powell and Hotz are cooking up inside, 2008 was a good year to be a fan of uncompromising undead storytelling.
