The Zombie: Simon Garth #1

Marvel's MAX imprint opens this four-issue limited series with a cover by Kyle Hotz that sets an unmistakably grim tone — a decaying Simon Garth looms upright against a sickly yellow background, his tattered clothing and decomposed frame rendered in unsettling detail. Below him, a dark-haired woman wields what appears to be a large blade while writhing tentacles coil around her, chaos and fire erupting at ground level. With Kyle Hotz and Eric Powell co-writing and Hotz handling the art, "Wrecks" promises a mature, atmospheric horror story that earns its Explicit Content label right from the opening chapter.
