To Save a City" blazes across this August 1966 issue, and Werner Roth and Dick Ayers deliver a cover packed with mutant mayhem — Cyclops unleashes a searing optic blast at the center while Iceman, Beast, Marvel Girl, and Angel soar and scramble amid the chaos, facing off against a cast of colorful adversaries including what appears to be a winged foe and green-clad villains. Roy Thomas was at the helm of the storytelling, making this a fine example of mid-'60s Marvel at full throttle — all for just twelve cents.
