Plant Man
Plant Man is a botanical supervillain who wields plant-based powers to menace Marvel's heroes, including the X-Men. He debuted as a Silver Age threat and has clashed with figures such as Count Nefaria over the course of his criminal career.
A Silver Age Marvel menace who made his mark crashing into the pages of The X-Men back in 1966, Plant Man was conjured up by Roy Thomas and Jay Gavin at a time when Stan Lee's mutant team was still finding its footing. Across a surprisingly long stretch of nearly four decades, this botanical villain kept turning up to trouble some of Marvel's heaviest hitters — sharing pages with the likes of Scott Summers, Bobby Drake, and even the imperious Count Nefaria. His appearances are few but choice, touching titles as varied as Namor, the Sub-Mariner Annual and a Wizard Ace Edition spotlight on the landmark Uncanny X-Men #94, making him a genuine Silver Age curiosity worth tracking down for any collector with a taste for the weird and wonderful corners of the Marvel Universe.
