“What Can You Get for a Ghoul Who Has Everything?”

DC's long-running anthology of "Creepy Shockers of Surprise and Suspense" delivers another unsettling January 1975 treat with this issue, cover-penciled and inked by Luis Dominguez. The cover sets up a deliciously ironic scene: a man holding a lantern reassures a startled woman in a doorway — "Don't be afraid! They're only stuffed animals!" — while looming before them are a massive gorilla-like creature and a snarling wolf, both very much in motion over a prone figure on the ground. Inside, Carl Wessler and Jess Jodloman bring the chills with "What Can You Get for a Ghoul Who Has Everything?" — a title that promises the kind of darkly comic horror this series does so well.
