When midnight strikes, The Witching Hour #60 delivers a genuinely unsettling tableau: a skeletal hand and grinning skull loom in the foreground while three terrified young people press their faces against a rain-slicked window, shadowed by the series' resident witch peering menacingly from behind them. DC's anthology of "Creepy Shockers of Surprise and Suspense" is in fine form here, with cover art by Nick Cardy and Luis Dominguez wringing every drop of dread from the scene. Inside, E. R. Cruz brings the same atmospheric craft to "The Body in Cold Storage" — a title that promises exactly the kind of chilling twist this series does so well.
