The Western Kid #3

Marvel's 1972 Western Kid series delivers a brawling cover with issue #3, "Bushwacked in the Badlands!" — and John Severin's cover art captures the chaos perfectly: a yellow-shirted hero trading punches with a green-clad gunman while onlookers crowd the scene, a woman in the background apparently the prize in a grim ultimatum ("Tex Dawson's gonna marry me — or be buried on Boot Hill!!"). The corner inset showing a rider and dog racing across rocky terrain adds a sense of the wide-open frontier that defined this era of Marvel Westerns. At 20 cents, this was a fine slice of saddle-leather adventure for fans of the genre.
