“Eye on the Fly”

Issue five of DC's Impact Comics line teams up two of its signature heroes — The Web and The Fly — for what the cover makes unmistakably clear is a high-energy collision. Gil Kane's cover art captures a yellow-armored, red-haired hero shouting "Geronimo!" as she bursts dramatically through a shattering surface, with a second yellow-suited figure tumbling below amid a cascade of debris and what appears to be gun barrels. It's a kinetic, dynamic composition from 1992 that showcases Kane's fluid sense of action and makes a strong case for picking up "Eye on the Fly.
