Tom Artis

Tomosina "Tom" Artis was a comic book artist whose work appeared across DC Comics, Marvel, and Fleetway/Quality during the 1980s and early 1990s. Born on January 3, 1956, Artis contributed to titles including *The Spectre*, *Green Arrow*, *She-Hulk*, *Judge Dredd*, and the miniseries *Tailgunner Jo*. In 1991, he became a partner in Leadslinger Comics, illustrating their sole original release, *The Terror*. His credits as artist, inker, and letterer span about thirty issues from 1985 to 1996, with notable runs on *The Web*, *The Sensational She-Hulk*, *M.A.C.H. 1*, *Psi-Judge Anderson*, *Justice Society of America*, and *Green Arrow Annual*. A regular presence at Chambanacon, he was often found sketching in the con suite. Artis died on May 1, 2007, and was eulogized at Chambanacon 38.
