☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis second volume in Marvel's The Transformers Collected Comics series continues the early adventures of the Autobots and Decepticons on Earth, reprinting issues from the original 1980s run. The collection focuses on the escalating conflict between the warring factions as they adapt to their new home and seek to rebuild their forces.
In "The Last Stand," Megatron—ravaged from battle—presses on to confront Shockwave after the Decepticon scientist's assault on an oil platform leaves Jo Beller injured. Though weakened, Megatron challenges Shockwave in a fierce clash, ultimately yielding leadership of the Decepticons in a moment of reluctant acknowledgment. Written by Bob Budiansky and illustrated by Alan Kupperberg, with colors by Nel Yomtov and letters by Rick Parker, this 1985 Marvel classic features a cover by M. D. Bright.
