The Transformers #1
In the aftermath of the war, Earth is slowly healing—especially in the U.S., where the scars of Decepticon conquest run deep. With the Autobots scattered and hiding, Prime faces a painful choice as pressure mounts and sacrifice becomes inevitable. When Ironhide’s final act forces a reckoning, Prime makes a decision that will change everything: surrendering to U.S. forces led by Spike, marking a turning point for the Autobots and the planet they’ve sworn to protect. Written by Mike Costa and illustrated by Don Figueroa, this pivotal first issue of IDW’s Transformers series—featuring cover art by Don Figueroa—sets the stage for a new chapter in the war for Earth.

It's been 3 years since the events of "All Hail Megatron" and Earth is in the process of rebuilding, specifically in the U.S., where the Decepticons made the largest amount of damage (particularly in New York). The Autobots have been forced into hiding, as Prime contemplates their fate. Eventually, after much pressure and sacrifice (especially after Ironhide's 'sacrifice' to save the then-captured Prowl from U.S. forces), Prime decides to leave the Autobots and surrenders himself to the U.S. forces led by Spike.
