The Terrifics #3

Part of DC's "New Age of Heroes" initiative spun out of Dark Nights: Metal, The Terrifics #3 brings the opening arc to a close with a cover that captures the team in full chaotic action. Ivan Reis's cover art tumbles the elongated, black-and-white-costumed Plastic Man across the composition while Mr. Terrific fires his energy-charged T-spheres below him, Phantom Girl darts through the smoke in the background, and a massive war machine looms ominously overhead — all under the blunt, thrilling promise of "War Wheel of Doom." Writers Jeff Lemire and Margaret Bennett, with vibrant colors by Marcelo Maiolo, have assembled one of 2018's more genuinely fun team books, and this issue looks like a fittingly kinetic finale to introduce these unlikely allies to the world.
