The Stand: The Night Has Come #4
Marvel's 2012 adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand reaches its penultimate chapter in "The Night Has Come," and the tension on Tomm Coker's cover is palpable. Three figures dominate the stark red-and-black composition — a determined man leveling a gun in the foreground, flanked by a looming figure behind him, while a bald, hunched man crouches in front, hands clasped as if in supplication or despair, all framed by what appears to be a chain-link fence bathed in blood-red light. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Mike Perkins bring King's post-apocalyptic world to its darkest hour in this fourth of six installments, with Laura Martin's color work making the cover's grim atmosphere impossible to ignore.
