The Stand: Soul Survivors #2

Marvel's adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand continues with Soul Survivors #2, the second chapter in this five-part limited series. Lee Bermejo's cover art is genuinely unsettling — a wild-eyed, snarling figure thrusts a large knife directly toward the viewer, a ghostly second figure looming in the blue-tinged background, and a grasping hand reaching from the shadows below. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Mike Perkins bring King's post-apocalyptic world to life with real atmosphere, and this 2010 series remains a compelling bridge between the novel and the comics page.
