The Shadow Strikes #7

Eduardo Barreto's cover for this 1990 DC series puts the Shadow front and center in a genuinely unsettling composition — cloaked in his signature hat and scarf, twin pistols drawn, with a vintage WOW radio broadcast microphone between him and the viewer and an "ON AIR" sign glowing in the background. The story title "To Cloud Men's Minds" plays perfectly off that image, suggesting the airwaves themselves as a weapon in the Shadow's world. Written by Gerard Jones with art by Rick Magyar and Frank Springer, this is pulp atmosphere done right.
