The Shade #3

Issue three of James Robinson's limited series finds the immortal man of shadow looking thoroughly in his element — top hat, tinted spectacles, and a knowing smirk — while a luminous white swan and a snarling yellow serpentine dragon coil around him against a rich, swirling red backdrop, with twin medallions bearing draconic sigils framing the composition. Tony Harris's cover art gives the Shade the air of a conjurer who has seen far too much of the world to be impressed by anything in it, yet remains genuinely dangerous company. With Cully Hamner handling interior art and Robinson's script carrying the title "Dreamtime," this is a series clearly earning its praise.
