“The Hills Have Eyes, And Mouths And Ears [And Maybe Noses...]”

She-Hulk has always had a flair for the self-aware, and issue #32 (October 1991) delivers that spirit right on the cover — she's shown tumbling headfirst into a dark, cavernous void beneath the tagline "Journey to the Center of the Earth," wearing a wide-eyed expression of alarm while her speech bubbles cheekily complain about plunging toward "certain doom" only to receive "bad puns for cover copy." John Byrne both pencils and inks the image, capturing She-Hulk mid-freefall in her pink costume, arms outstretched, green hair wild, with a batlike shape trailing behind her as she plunges deeper into the darkness. It's a cover that balances genuine peril with sharp comic wit — exactly the mix that made this run such a treat in 1991.
