The Saga of Swamp Thing #3
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAgainst a blood-red sky and darkened railroad tracks, Tom Yeates's cover to The Saga of the Swamp Thing #3 (1982) drops readers straight into a chaotic brawl — the massive, moss-covered Swamp Thing looms over a tangle of struggling figures, including a gaunt, menacing villain and several civilians clearly caught in the chaos. The story title "A Town Has Turned to Blood" promises something grim and atmospheric, and that crimson horizon and lone bat silhouetted in the corner make a strong case for taking it seriously. With Martin Pasko scripting and Tatjana Wood's vivid colors deepening the dread, this is a genuinely compelling chapter in DC's early-'80s horror-adventure revival — and a nice reminder that the concurrent Avco Embassy film wasn't the only place Swamp Thing was making waves.
