A wild melee erupts on this December 1967 cover by Dick Ayers and Frank Giacoia, where the Rawhide Kid charges forward gun drawn alongside Calamity Jane, with Wild Bill Hickok and a cavalry clash of riders and Native warriors filling the dust-choked background. The banner promises "action-packed adventure" when the Kid meets those two frontier legends, and the story title "Shotgun to Deadwood!" hints at plenty of trouble ahead on the trail. It's a lively slice of Marvel's Silver Age Western output, rendered with the energetic line work that made this series a reliable Saturday-afternoon treat.
