The Rawhide Kid #33
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Rawhide Kid rides headlong into a canyon ambush on this April 1963 cover, penciled and inked by Jack Kirby, as armed outlaws close in from every rocky ledge and shadow around him — all while the Kid steels himself with the thought that there's no turning back. The bold yellow caption promises a showdown pitting the Kid "alone and unafraid" against "The Guns of Jesse James!", and Kirby's dynamic composition makes that threat feel immediate, with gunmen lurking in the foreground, scrambling along ridgelines, and calling out the Kid from above. Stan Lee, Jack Davis, Stan Goldberg, and Art Simek round out the creative team inside, making this a strong example of Marvel's western storytelling at its early-'60s best.
