“The Deadly Draw of Mr. Lightning!”

This June 1963 Marvel Western packs two tense scenarios onto a single cover by Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers. The upper scene puts the Rawhide Kid face-to-face with the boastful Mister Lightning — gun already drawn and aimed — while bystanders scatter and a masked gunman lurks nearby, with cover copy taunting that Lightning is even faster than the Kid himself. Below, a second vignette plunges into a chaotic frontier clash titled "Prisoner of the Apaches!," showing a figure in a wide-brimmed hat caught between warring forces and a besieged wagon train with the desperate cry that there are "hundreds of 'em." Two pulse-quickening Western tales promised for just twelve cents.
