“On the Track of Unknown Animals”

In "On the Track of Unknown Animals," Frank Castle is sent to Africa on a bizarre dinosaur-hunting expedition orchestrated by Microchip, hoping to pull him away from his relentless crusade in the city. When gorillas are brutally killed during the trip, the Punisher shifts focus, zeroing in on the hunters—only to collide with Wolverine, who’s tracking a poaching ring to its source. With tensions high and both men convinced the other is the enemy, the jungle becomes a battleground of suspicion and violence. Written and drawn by Carl Potts, with dynamic inks by Jim Lee and bold cover art by Lee, this 1989 issue blends gritty action with a tense, survival-driven mystery.

Microchip sends Frank to Africa as part of a dinosaur hunting expedition to get him away from the city and his war on crime. Wolverine tracks down a poaching ring in Madripoor and heads to Africa to look for the source. When gorillas are killed on Frank's expedition, the Punisher begins to track them down. Wolverine and the Punisher run across each other in the African jungle and, each assuming the other to be a poacher, begin to fight.
