The Punisher #49
The tagline says it all — "The Predator Becomes the Prey!" — and Ron Wagner and Andy Kubert's cover delivers on that promise with Frank Castle bundled in a heavy winter coat, gun in hand, caught in a desperate scramble across a snow-swept landscape as snowmobiles crash and armed pursuers fly through the air around him. It's a striking cold-weather action image that sets the stage perfectly for "Death Below Zero," a 1991 story from writer Chuck Dixon that puts the Punisher on the defensive for a change. Wagner pulls double duty as both penciler and interior artist, giving this issue a welcome visual consistency inside and out.
