“The Eyes Have It!”

All three Powerpuff Girls — Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup — hover over Townsville's rooftops in this 2003 DC/Cartoon Network issue, looking startled (and a little annoyed) as an enormous, mysterious black eye looms over them from the left half of the cover, prompting Blossom's very reasonable speech-bubble question: "What're YOU lookin' at?" The ghostly outlines of the Girls mirrored on the eye's surface add a pleasingly eerie touch, hinting that something strange is reflecting their world back at them. With cover art by Phil Moy and the story title "The Eyes Have It!", issue #42 promises the kind of quirky, good-natured chaos that makes this series such a treat.
