The Power of SHAZAM! #47
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe "Final Strike" arc reaches its climax in this March 1999 issue, with Jerry Ordway's cover putting Captain Marvel face-to-face — or rather, fist-to-three-faces — against a massive, serpentine, multi-headed monster whose dripping fangs and coiling tentacles engulf nearly the entire image. The tagline "Versus the Three Faces of Evil!" says it all, and Ordway's rendering of that lurching behemoth makes the threat feel genuinely overwhelming against Marvel's crimson-and-gold figure straining upward in defiance. A fine send-off to one of the Shazam! title's most menacing confrontations, rendered entirely by Ordway's own hand from pencils to inks.
