The Power of SHAZAM! #41

Part four of "The Monster Society of Evil" arrives in this 1998 installment, and Jerry Ordway's cover — inked by Ordway himself — captures the chaos perfectly: a massive, grotesque insectoid creature dominates the scene above a grand civic building, while Captain Marvel in his red-and-gold uniform is flung through the air below it, bystanders scattering in every direction. Two Green Lanterns join the fray — one visible in green near the roofline, another up high battling the creature — making good on the cover's promise of some seriously powerful guest stars. With Ordway writing and Pete Krause and Dick Giordano handling interior art, this is superhero storytelling firing on all cylinders.
