The combination of that grandiose setting and a genuinely unsettling monster makes for a striking image that captures the arc's escalating threat perfectly. With interior art by Pete Krause inked by Dick Giordano, this is a solid chapter in one of DC's most earnest and entertaining superhero series of the late '90s.
