The Pixies help an older man named Pete turn a telescope into an underground subway by extending and positioning it, then discover the telescope has become a useful tool for observing the night sky. After an encounter with Merton Moth and his gang who attempt to raid a pixie picnic, Pete the Pixie transforms into the Mighty Atom to defeat the invaders and protect the pixieary from the insect menace. The Mighty Atom then returns to his regular pixie form, having successfully defended his tiny community from the moth threat.
