The Pixies #2

The Pixies #2 from Magazine Enterprises captures the cheerful, anything-goes spirit of 1947 funny-animal comics with a cover bursting in bright yellow energy. Five tiny pixie kids turn an ordinary stack of books into a diving board and swimming pool — one red-haired imp goes airborne with arms flung wide, two girls come running along the makeshift platform, a smaller pixie climbs the book-stack staircase, and a dark-haired pixie splashes gleefully inside a goldfish bowl alongside a very surprised-looking goldfish. It's a wonderfully inventive scene that makes the whole world feel like a playground sized just right for mischief.
