The Phoenix Resurrection: Genesis #1
"Genesis" kicks off The Phoenix Resurrection: Genesis #1 (1995) with a high-stakes crossover that plunges the Phoenix Force into the Ultraverse after a mysterious alien vessel on the ocean floor unleashes it. Written by Ian Edginton and Dan Abnett, with dynamic art by Darick Robertson, Mark Pacella, Greg Luzniak, and Rob Haynes, the story sees the X-Men thrust into a new reality where the Phoenix Force takes control of Prime—just as the UltraForce arrives to stop it. The conflict escalates when the UltraForce initially sides with Prime, but the Black Knight intervenes, uniting the teams to drive the Phoenix out before it claims a new host. The cover, by Bryan Hitch and Paul Neary, captures the cosmic intensity of the moment.
