Stepping out of Malibu Comics' bold early-'90s superhero universe, Book made their debut in Hardcase #7 in 1993, brought to life by writer James Hudnall and artist Scott Benefiel. A product of the Copper/Modern Age, this character inhabits a corner of the Ultraverse where the company is genuinely electric — sharing pages with the likes of Prototype, Death Dance, and the enigmatic Gate. With appearances stretching into The Phoenix Resurrection crossover event, Book may be a rare presence in the catalog, but that scarcity only makes tracking them down all the more rewarding for devoted Malibu completists.
