The Phantom #5
In "Peoples of Africa, Number 7: The Fantis," the twentieth Phantom continues his son Kit’s training in the ways of the jungle and the legacy of the mask, preparing him for a future far from the hidden jungle. Sent to live with his mother’s family in America, Kit arrives in a loincloth—after swapping clothes with his loyal companion Guran, who’s grown uneasy in modern attire—leaving his new relatives both bewildered and bemused. Written by Bill Harris and illustrated by Bill Lignante, with lettering by Ben Oda, the issue’s cover by George Wilson captures the stark contrast between the wilds of Africa and the unfamiliar world Kit now steps into.
