“[Total Chaos, Part 2 of 9]: That Which Lurks Within a Star”

Part 2 of the nine-part "Total Chaos" crossover, this 1992 DC series entry from writer Marv Wolfman and artist Tom Grummett (with inks by Al Vey) wastes no time escalating the conflict. The cover — also penciled by Grummett and inked by Vey — erupts with the Team Titans diving down from a pink-skied cityscape, a glowing silver energy figure looming above while heroes in blue, yellow, and red uniforms scatter in mid-air combat, all beneath the pointed tagline "Death from the Skies!" It's a kinetic, brightly colored snapshot of a sprawling team conflict that promises the battle is very much still finding its stride.
