The cover of this August 1986 issue announces what fans had been waiting for — "At Last! Starfire vs. Blackfire!" — and George Pérez delivers with an arresting close-up of a furious, green-eyed Tamaranean warrior, her wild red hair blazing against a vivid red background as her glowing fists thrust toward the reader. Writer Marv Wolfman and artist Eduardo Barreto (inked by Romeo Tanghal) bring the sibling rivalry between the two alien princesses to a head in "Loser Take All!" It's a striking, confrontational image that makes it hard to set this one back on the shelf.
