“The Singer & Her Song”

In "The Singer & Her Song," the New Mutants return from Limbo with a mission: rescue Magma and Sunspot from the mutant arena, where shadows of their past and present collide. With Shadowcat wielding Illyana's Soulsword and Magik's armor emerging in the process, the team faces a hidden enemy—Karma, the former New Mutant now pulling strings from within. Bill Sienkiewicz’s haunting art and Glynis Oliver’s vivid colors bring the surreal tension to life, while Chris Claremont crafts a story where identity and loyalty are tested in the arena’s deadly light.

Shadowcat uses Illyana's Soulsword to transform her from the Darkchilde back to her normal human form, manifesting Magik's armor in the process. The kids return to earth from Limbo and once again head to the mutant arena to rescue the captured Magma and Sunspot. They are secretly spied on by the Beyonder but Rachel senses him and tries to communicate. Dazzler and Shadowcat infiltrate the Gladiators but are captured by the one who is actually controlling events in the arena, the former New Mutant, Karma.
