Gail Simone's New 52 series takes a vivid turn in this October 2013 issue, with a cover by Amanda Conner that puts team member Mouse front and center — a wiry, bare-chested figure wearing a rodent-eared mask, exploding outward in a golden blaze while dozens of rats swarm every surface around him. Two overwhelmed figures in the foreground are engulfed by the tide of rodents, making it instantly clear why the cover dubs Mouse "The One-Man Plague." It's a wildly energetic image that showcases Conner's fluid linework and promises plenty of street-level chaos within.
