The Last of the Greats #3

Issue three of Joshua Hale Fialkov and Brent Peeples' Image series presents a quietly unsettling image: a supremely confident, powerfully built figure lounges in a red armchair, cup in hand, wearing a relaxed smile that somehow feels more threatening than any clenched fist. The glowing, cursive light display behind him adds a slick, almost theatrical atmosphere to the scene — this is a being entirely at ease with his own importance. ComicBookResources.com called it "one fun read with some real meat on its bones," and this 2011 series clearly has plenty of both.
