☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe issue contains two stories: "Knothead Nancy," in which Nancy arrives at the Bar-X Ranch for a vacation and plans to impress the ranch owner Mr. Sagebrush by cooking on an open range, only to have her elaborate outfit attract attention and lead to comedic misunderstandings; and an untitled story featuring the Kilroys, in which a character attempts to lift weights and impress others with his strength, only to be knocked down and embarrassed when confronted, leading to chaotic scenes at what appears to be a gym or practice space.
Jo and the gang thought a ski trip in a chartered Pullman car would be the perfect mid-winter break—until their train takes a wrong turn and they find themselves hurtling south toward Florida instead.
In "The Big Buildup!" from The Kilroys #47, Jackson’s football tryout ends in a heap, but his friend Natch is determined to help him rise again—literally. With a mix of misguided motivation and escalating chaos, Natch’s weight-lifting plan quickly spirals when Jackson accidentally flattens Mr. Bonecrusher’s prized rosebush, drawing the wrath of Mr. Kilroy. When Natch tries to boost Jackson’s confidence with a clever ruse—painting light weights as heavy ones—the prank backfires spectacularly when Mr. Kilroy himself takes a turn, only to walk away convinced he’s suddenly a powerhouse.
