About this Collection

This volume collects issues #7-9 of the 2023 DC series, continuing the story of the Joker's chaotic return to Gotham City after his escape from prison. Writer James Tynion IV and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli delve deeper into the Joker's twisted psyche and his plans to reclaim his place as Batman's greatest foe, while also exploring the fallout from the events of the previous arcs.

In "Broken Home, Broken Heart," the Joker is in the hands of Vicky and Buddy Sampson, who are taking him back to their Texas home to exact revenge for their son Billy’s death. With Gordon recovering in Gotham, Barbara and Julia work to track the Joker, but Jim, ignoring Barbara’s counsel, sets out on his own to find him. Written by James Tynion IV and illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli, with inks by Cam Smith, Lorenzo Ruggiero, and Adriano Di Benedetto, and colors by Arif Prianto and Romulo Fajardo Jr., this issue delivers a tense, character-driven dive into vengeance and trauma, all framed by Camuncoli and Smith’s striking cover.
