George gains a new assistant, Lydia Lee. The underwater activity continues to grow. George and Jane join a scientific expedition to determine the cause of the disturbance. George helps to repel an attack by the creature at the root of the disturbance, gaining the ability to read minds in the process. This allows George to read Jane's mind and learn of the meteor on a collision course with Earth.
