The Invisibles #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe second issue of Grant Morrison and Steve Yeowell's boundary-pushing Vertigo series arrives with a cover by Sean Phillips that perfectly captures the series' unsettling atmosphere — a long-haired figure in a worn coat stands uneasily amid a lurid red-and-green urban blur, while a shadowy presence looms in the background and a partially visible figure edges in from the right. The painted style gives the whole scene a dreamlike instability, as if the city itself can't quite be trusted. "Down and Out in Heaven and Hell, Part 1" promises exactly the kind of disorienting, mature storytelling that made The Invisibles such a compelling presence on shelves in 1994.
