The Huntress #14
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this May 1990 issue says it all: the Huntress — in her distinctive purple costume, gun drawn — stands her ground between a surging, bat-wielding mob and a towering, green-caped mystery figure who looms ominously in the foreground, dwarfing her in silhouette. Cover pencils by Joe Staton and inks by Bob Smith give the scene a raw, street-level tension that perfectly captures the tagline's promise of "Cross-Fire!" — with the Huntress squeezed between an angry crowd and a self-styled new hero of the people. Writer Joey Cavalieri and artist Joe Staton's ongoing series continues to find compelling moral complexity for Helena, and this installment looks like one of its more visually arresting moments.
