The Funnies #26
In "Charles Scully," Sheldon Mayer delivers a classic early comic caper with a twist of absurdity, as a mysterious studio call pulls Captain Colorful from jail—only to send the bewildered Professor Twitchel packing in his place. With Mayer handling every aspect of the art and storytelling, this 1938 Dell gem blends slapstick and suspense in a story that hinges on a single phone call and a very confused man in the wrong place at the right time.
