The Funnies #14
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis November 1937 issue of Dell's The Funnies opens with a charming football-field gag: a tiny child in a striped shirt points up at a dazed, mustachioed player clutching a football, delivering the deadpan observation, "Hey Mutt, I think somethin' happened t'you on that last play!" The cover's warm humor sets the tone for an anthology packed with beloved strips — Alley Oop, Captain Easy, Mutt and Jeff, Tailspin Tommy, Dan Dunn, Boots, Reglar Fellers, Out Our Way, and many more. At just 10 cents, this issue also promises adventure stories, crossword puzzles, a stamp page, and two prize contests, making it a genuinely generous read for 1937.
