The Flintstones #9
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeMarvel's 1979 run of Hanna-Barbera's beloved prehistoric family hits a wonderfully goofy high note with this issue, as the cover shows Fred and Barney sealed inside a giant translucent bubble, tumbling together in what the cover promises is a Mars-bound adventure called "The Amazing Rubble Bubble." Down below, Wilma reaches up toward the departing duo while little Pebbles sits on a blanket nearby with her building blocks, and the family's pet Dino looks on — a sweet domestic tableau made gloriously ridiculous by the sci-fi spectacle floating above them. Cover pencils by Dick Bickenbach and inks by Lee Hooper capture the warm, rubbery charm of the original animated series perfectly.
