James Tynion IV and Joshua Hixson's unsettling psychological series continues with this fourth issue from Image Comics. The cover, rendered by Hixson in a murky, smoke-tinged palette, places two figures in an uncomfortably intimate scene — an older, gaunt man holding a cigarette faces a younger man in glasses who looks down at an open notebook, pen in hand, as though conducting an interview neither party is entirely comfortable with. It's a quietly tense image that captures everything compelling about The Deviant: the sense that the most disturbing things happen in ordinary rooms, in ordinary conversations.
