The cover of this June 1977 issue poses a tantalizing question — "What Is the Secret of Scorpio?" — as a menacing, red-masked Scorpio dominates the foreground while the Hulk, a caped figure, a white-costumed hero, and other Defenders clash in dynamic chaos around him. The cover art, penciled by Ed Hannigan and Marie Severin and inked by Joe Sinnott and Marie Severin, delivers a vivid sense of the team under serious pressure from a threat they clearly don't fully understand yet. With a writing team of David Kraft and Don McGregor paired with the interior art of Keith Giffen and Dan Green, this first chapter of "Who Remembers Scorpio?" has all the ingredients of a standout mid-1970s Marvel team book.
